Hi Reefers,

as above, appreciate if anyone could advise. I "sat" it up but it keeps toppling over and lies on the side.

My experience with my crocea clam also suffers same fate in 1st 2 days. The clam keeps falling. The trick is 2 place the clam bottom tissue 2 sit on a piece of rock so that it can attach itself. This way once its steadily resting on the rock, it will not topple & crabs will not push it over.

you may want to use something to support it for the time-being while it attach to the rock. remember to give it space at the sides for it to open up. mine was moving and jumping off the rock for close to 1 week before it decides to settle down. No choice, no place to move anymore.

Some times the clam moves by itself to get more light... did you set it in a proper position to recieve enough light?

IMO, croceas need more lights and since its newly introduced in ur tank, try to locate it at low flow area and less of handling to prevent further stress to it. Wat is ur height of the tank and light used too smile.gif
I second Bro UWS idea of placing the clam over a rock to allow it to stick its base to secure itself firmly first

Thanks all for the advice. My Maxi is around 12cm and placed on sandbed. I don't want to place it on the liverocks, so wondering what other options do I have? I have no problem with my squamy (it is bigger and more stable, I guess). I was thinking of getting an acrylic ring but it would look ugly...think I can place it between pieces of corals?
