i don't think there is any hard and fast role for keeping encrusting monti...

for light, it depends on the type of monti you are keeping....super man or rainbow, maybe you want high light for max. potential, for Dan LE monti, or green poly + green based mid-light....etc...

for flow, its very hard to define what is high and what is low....every one seems to have their own definately....

for me, i would look for the location that i want the monti to be positioned place it there an try for the best....if it can't maintain the color for a few weeks move it up....if poly don't extend find a location with less flow, if dirt starts gathering on it, maybe find a location with a little different flow.....

My preferences is that if an encrusting monti, doesn't color up the way i like at a specific location - throw or give away......the last you want is brown monti encrusting all over your rocks....

no la....now tone down already, have to resit the urge to overstock as its very obvious once PO4 is up, SPS color will start to darken.....just waiting for my pieces to grow into place...
