Just wondering how long everyone keeps their sps dominated tank on..

1) I know it defers between tanks, lighting intensity etc. How do we know how many hours is sufficient for the tank? Some of my SPS growing, others don't seem to be growing, I've checked the required parameters for SPS already, and they are at appropriate levels. Should I increase my photoperiod? Its at 7 hours now.

2) Another question, just wondering, if a set of lighting is deemed insufficient for specific light-intensive sps species, will increasing the photoperiod sustain these corals instead of adding more wattage to the lights?

i been adviced to keep the MH on for a maximun of 9hrs only but for T5. u can switch it on for up to 12hours
that what i am using now

But still i see some of my coral not doing that well ie the colour intensity

maybe it got to do with the flow or some part of my tank not getting enough lights. Also, maybe not feeding the corals stuff like oysters eggs etc. I am just starting to feed oysters eggs etc. hopefully colour will be more intense.
