hi bro ...
long time no see
hehe.. u finally into it liao
ok .. here goes :
normal anglerfish cost from $6 ~ $20 depending on type and colour say Antennarius striatus, Striated Frogfish and sometime it depends on LFS too ( chop the carrot heads )..
A commerson will cost round $35 for a good 1" and higgest i heard of will be $380 for a food ball size commerson.
A warty will cost from $70 ~ $250 (this depends on the colour, size and the straits on it bobies). For thoses rare and special frogfish/anglerfish like the Rodless or Cryptic Anglerfish (Histophryne cryptacantha) it depends... it may cost a few bucks ~ a few hundreds. due to fact that the LFS itself did not know about the price he/her self ...
IMO i would advise u to go for the normal one first
hope to hear from you soon
cheers

Whoa, thats a very fast reply, shifu ( since mentor sounds old
)... IMO, Frogfishes seem not easy to rear.. and is it really a must to feed them live food...??
Seen LFS putting a damsel or chromis into a tank of frogfish... quite cruel...
Though i think the froggy will appreciate the meal

sorry, cut in abit...
its damn cruel lah...but its a matter of getting used to it lah...when i first began my froggy adventure, my gf and parents all not used to seeing the poor damsel being eaten as food...my mum even say the damsels look scared..haha but after awhile, quoting henry, its just a cycle wat...it happens in nature too so ya...also the fact that the feeding time look supremely awesome will make it a tad less hard to accept...haha
btw bro lester and shawn post ya froggy tank setup leh...always only see ya froggies but never see ya setup b4
cheers...

hehe... shifu sound even older !!!! hehe hmm juz call me lester can liao
no worries... jus make sure the tank rearing the froggies are cycled and mature.with a good skimmer running.. before u add ur froggies in .. hmm rem to stock slowly with porper alclimatation
have a few cave for them to hide and ambush for prey
take note of the NO3 and copper level as high level of it are quite fatal to them..
a normal FL will do for lighting if no corals are in
for current a slow to mid flow will do
as for feeding .. hmmm... in the natural world they are born hunters.. well u can wearned them to forzens... but as for me..... i let feed live food
cheers
