Heard feedback from a member yesterday that our server is slow?!?!! blink.gif blink.gif

Anyone experiencing that?? blink.gif blink.gif

I only experience slow connection when starhub's connection is slow, expecially during evening times... but it also means other sites would be slow...

Have anyone experienced problems surfing in AROL??

So far so good but yesterday seems to have problems with overall internet connection. Guess nothing to do with this site.

I don't think so as I did a bandwidth test to the local service provider as well as a ping round trip test from the same workstation to the following sites.

Fyi, it took a packet to travel from my workstation to AROL and back is 281ms. wink.gif

Here are the timings comparing to other sites:

Arofanatics: 113ms
AROL: 281ms
Reefcentral: 403ms
SRC: 35ms

Interesting isn't?

Yes .. it took a much longer time comparing with those sites. sad.gif

Another test was taken around 7:50am this morning at the same workstation:

Arofanatics: 33ms
AROL: 265ms
Reefcentral: 315ms
SRC: 32ms

Hmm... can share how you did the test??

Want to look into it... any idea if it has anything to do with the server?? Coz both AROL and RC are hosted overseas... smile.gif

Just managed to get some advice from my client who's an IT expert... tongue.gif

Found out that having our server hosted overseas would indeed register a higher ms (milli-second) reading during the Ping Round Trip test... sad.gif

But I've also been adviced that as long as the user's connection speed is good, they should not have a problem suring our site... happy.gif happy.gif

Only solution to this minor problem is that we have to relocate our server to a local server which is something I have comtemplated before... however, with issues like reliability, security and service rendered by a local web-hosting company, I decided to have our forums hosted overseas... smile.gif
