I was at Iwarna yesterday and was talking to Aunty and the conversation came up about the last shipment at Iwarna on Friday... apparently some of the corals that were unpacked by the reefers present was not handled very well resulting several pieces having mechanical damage and also causing undue coral stress.... Of those that were not bought up on Friday, I picked up no less than 20 pieces of dying corals and these had to be promptly thrown away....
Though Aunty said its part of the business to have casualties, I feel we should help spare a thought for these LFSes (not only Iwarna).... Hence my appeal to all, that during shipment arrival times, in the midst of us trying to get our favourite piece of coral, let's all try to ensure the rest are handled well, though there would be casualties due to the shipment stress, let's try to minimise the coral deaths due to mishandling, which adds more stress (death?) to the corals...
I believe with better survival rates, the LFSes would be even more confident to bring in more shipments in the future!
Thank You & Cheers!!
