Hi guys,

Need your suggestions on getting rid of Algae. I've never had an outbreak before until i started using one of the Kent Marine Coral Accelerator / Vital (forgot the actual name) then suddenly algae growing everywhere.

I bought a new phosphate filter

I do water changes 10-25% everyweek with Tropic Marine Pro Salt

Even employ phosphate remove sachets into my filters

And even manual pulling off the rocks... but it seems more i clean off, more it goes.. its like u trying to pull grass out of a field it's never ending

I even tried minimizing the amount of light so this way i'm depriving then of light and food to grow

But with everything i've tried nothing seems to work...

My last options are to ditch the rock and get new ones but i'm trying not to do that.. can someone help?

Need help urgently ninja.gif

Some of the poor quality rocks probably leach much more phosphate than you can ever imagine...

Wat water do you use to mix the salt?

Wat do you feed the fishes?

Do you use po4 removal media, if yes, how do you run it?

Do you have good flow around the tank and the rocks? Or do you have rocks closely packed to one another?

Wat skimmer do you use?

Do you have a refugium?

Maybe by adding some tangs, they can help to reduce the algae growth by eating the algae...

Hihi Ozmister.. not sure if its same prob.... but r yr algae the slime brown algae? I had same prob when i first started using amino acid concentrate frm korallen zucht de. Slime brown algae started appearing everywhere. As per instruction frm manyfacturer, stop dosing till no more brown algae n then start dosing smaller doses than previously... I think if yr product is similar(ie amino acids) , same treatment cud be used. Just my 2 cts worth, not sure if it'll help tho
