what is happening ?

There are several possibilities:

1) Some of the images posted on another server have since been removed by the owner.
2) Some of the threads were moved earlier to merge some of the forums and caused the errors.

and from the pic how come even using IE7 i need to click on the reply threads one by one to open them to view ?

Can you do a screenshot of your <Board Settings> under <My Controls> ?

You have edited the settings.... to revert :

Change:

Number of posts to show for each topic page
Number of topics to show for each forum page

from 40 to "Use forum default"

i changed already but still the same

I do get the same error message but have learn to live with it by clicking refresh everytime it appears.

You have changed your view to "Outline", to revert, do this, will solve your problem :

1) Click <Options> (in red circle)
2) Click "Switch to Standard"
3) refresh the page and check again.
