laugh.gif laugh.gif Yes, think this question has popped up before... but unfortunately, most forget to clear their PM boxes too! And with the uncleared PM boxes (you know who you are!) plus an auto-save feature on Sent PMs, it takes up lots of unneccessary space on the server.

Sorry dude, if you want a copy of the PM Sent, you'll have to remember to check the box! biggrin2.gif biggrin2.gif biggrin2.gif

boss is it possible for the sent msg be keep for a maximum of 30days.. or 1 week etc.. then if those you wanna keep can move it to a folder and the msg in the folder must be deleted away by the owner itself...

if scare the owner might forget to clear the msg in the folder...
then can like put an alarm for the particular msg or folder to remind the owner to clear the msg??

or more simple auto send reminder for them to clear the sent item weekly...

if nvr clear.. all the sent pm will be sent to his or her registered email... lol... ask them clear their own email...

or tell them if they dun clear their sent items all the sent items will be deleted away 24hrs later or some thing like that...

just a suggestion... flower.gif

Sounds easy... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

In actual fact, there are gonna be several features involved in such a setup which requires extensive modifications to the forum software which I prefer not to do, for fear of corrupting the software... cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

Would suggest if you really want to keep a copy of the PM sent that you check the box... the default setting in the forum software is such so that there would not be excessive PMs stored to add strain to the server. smile.gif

Cheers! wink.gif

Each member is allowed to keep up to 2000 PMs... if that feature is enabled, we're looking at a potential more than 4,000,000 PMs uncleared in those mailboxes!! shocked.gif shocked.gif

I can't figure out how come uncleared PMs will increase to 4M confused.gif ? Since It's kept at 2K per member, those who reach 2k should ban liao meh whistling.gif that includes inbox, sent folder..etc.

Unless, you're setting inbox 2k and no limit in the sent folder then i'm sure at no time, it will hit 4M or more liao mw_sick.gif !

That is assuming 2000PMs x 2000+ members... that is 4,000,0000+ PMs liao... bear in mind there are those who might have some 1000+ PMs in their mailbox uncleared and they give up the hobby and seldom log in... this would put a permanent strain on our server.... cry.gif cry.gif

Ban?? Ban also no use, if the PMs are uncleared, it will always be there... sweatdrop.gif sweatdrop.gif
