Anyone can advise on the lighting requirement of suharsonoi?
I read that it's a deep water species... as such, can it do well (in terms of colouration) under lower light? If using T5, possible to keep it at the lower part of the tank (3/4 down the tank)instead? Will the colour still hold at such low area of the tank?
Thanks

Yes, A. Suharsonois are deep water acros... but it doesn't mean it needs less light, bear in mind that in deeper waters, the sunlight is still pretty strong, unlike the lightings that we use in our tanks, which is why you see people keeping SPS using 400Ws or even 1000Ws...
It also very much depends on the colour of your coral now, I've seen A. Suharsonois in brown and also very different hues of green and it depends on what colour you to see on your coral, if you like it brown (cause I think A.Suharsonois are unique due to its growth form and not the colour), keep it lower... if you want it to display shades of green, have it higher up, if your water is pristine clean, having them at the bottom might result in them turning green anyway...
Try it at a location of several weeks and see if you like it's colour, if you want something greener or more intense green, try moving it up...
Lastly, remember that in deep waters, there's still alot of blue spectrum from the sunlight and lots of corals still photosynthesize...

here's my contribution: Requires medium light and moderate water movement.
Hey thanks as well. I place it slightly below the center of the tank, it's doing well i think. Good polyp extention so far... will monitor over the next few weeks.

Yup... it's a slow grower...
Dun worry, with proper lights, it would turn a nice shade of green soon! In deep waters, the coral might be creamy or brown in colour but once you give it enough light, like in a reef tank, they normally turn greenish after a while...
