General Guidelines

1. "AROL" refers to the forum called Absolute Reef OnLine. "We" or "us" refers to the Administrator and/or Moderators of AROL.

2. By registering to post and reply to threads on AROL you agree to abide by the rules, policies and disclaimers (RPD) of the AROL forum, as listed here.

3. Considering the real-time nature of AROL, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not us. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email/PM. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

4. You agree, through your use of this service and registration, that you will not use AROL to post any material which is knowingly false and / or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you, or permission for use has been obtained.

5. Although AROL does not review all the messages posted and is not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your message(s), and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Administrators and Moderators of AROL and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

6. We at AROL also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

7. AROL is a non-commercial forum. Therefore, posts of a commercial nature (as explained below) are limited to the Advertisers Forum. See the Commercial Guidelines below for further information on commercial posting.

8. Please note that the following are inappropriate on AROL:
a) chain letters, pyramid schemes and solicitations (all forums)
b) advertisements (except in Advertisers Forum by advertisers as detailed below)

9. Anyone found to be contravening the letter or the spirit of the General Guidelines, at the discretion of us, will be given a private and / or public warning depending on the severity of the offence. Repeat offenders will be dealt with as seen fit by us.

10. This RPD may be changed or amended (including being terminated and replaced with new RPD) at any time by the AROL Committee without giving any reason or prior notice. Notification of changes to, or replacement of, this RPD will be via a message with a subject heading the same as, or similar to, "Modification of AROL Rules, Policies and Disclaimers" posted to the General Discussion forum. Making any post (including Private Messages) within AROL following any amendment or replacement of this RPD binds an AROL Member to the amendment or replacement of the RPD

Commercial Guidelines :

11. A commercial post is defined as a post that draws attention in any way to a hobby related business that the author has a financial relationship with. For example casual employee, sales representative or owner.

12. Any user making a commercial post as defined above must clearly identify themselves by way of their username and/or by use of a signature in their posts. Signatures are to be limited to title, business name and contact details. Advertisements or slogans etc. are not permitted.

13. Commercial posts are not permitted in any forum other than the Advertisers Forum, and by the Advertisers.

14. Any postings, where the pricings is/are mentioned would be deem as commercial post in nature

15. Anyone deemed by the us to be contravening the letter or the spirit of the Commercial Guidelines will be dealt with as seen fit by us.

Rules and Regulations :

1. Any forms of vulgarity, obscenity is strictly prohibited.

2. Any racial, political, ethnic, gender-based insults is strictly prohibited.

3. Any forms of offensive, inflammatory comments, remarks, statements is strictly prohibited.

4. Pictures posted must not be of a pornographic, explicit, obscene and offensive nature.

5. When posting pictures/literature borrowed from other websites/forums, credit must be given to the "owners" of the pictures/literature posted here in AROL.

6. Members may not openly complain, flame or criticise other members, Moderators, Adminstrators, Advertisers in this forum. If you need to voice ur negative opinions, please use the Private Message Function.

7. Multiple nicks, when detected, will result in member being banned indefinitely at the discretion of the Administrator/Moderator

8. Advertising and any form of commercial sales unless in the capacity of a Forum Advertisers, is strictly prohibited.

9. Signatures, when used, should not contain any form of commercial advertising or links to any commerical forums/websites.

10. The nature of post is critical in this forum. Excessive spamming and flooding of the forum is strictly prohibited.

11. The Forum Administrator/Moderators shall have the final decision in any events.
