3 days without lights seems to be very effective to combat cyno.

What about those who keep SPS...
Hmm a hard one.But look at Singapore's weather during December.How many days in a week sometimes we have rain??Sometimes a whole week it rains.I guess it's natures way to combat algae.Indonesia is also the same.So i guess it's okay too.

um, the last time it rained for weeks on end, much alage and cyano developed shortly from the die-off of the fauna due to excessive dilution of surrounding waters.

Anything more than that will cause bleaching. Also the lights after the black out must be gradual in order not to stress the SPS.

trying to hypothesize on the reason why it goes away. Its only Cyano rt? not green algae? thnx
