Quick question bros.... i have a small sps frag (im gueessing its an acropora of some sort)that i got for free from my LFS..It was suffering from tissue necrosis, not the rapid kind. Since having it in my tank it has regained almost all its tissue and it has also coloured up quite a bit(purplish hue with slighty blue polyps) and there is polyp extention, though not that much.
Now my question. I just noticed that it is not losing tissue from the base quite quickly, i think the term is RTN. 1)What could be causing this? 2)Would fragging the dead part off help stop the RTN?
Would hate to lose this guy now. Have grown pretty attached to it since it was almost dead when i got it.

Yes it is possible to save it by cutting it away from the affected part and still thrives.
